NEWS • HABER 18 BBM / JULY-AUGUST 2019 • TEMMUZ-AĞUSTOS 2019 At last Friday’s extraordinary general shareholders’ meeting, Rainer Schulz was elected to Bühler Group’s Board of Directors in a unanimous decision. He will as- sume his position with immediate effect. With his ap- pointment, the Board of Directors has won an experienced business expert with an impressive industrial track record who will ensure continuity in the further development of Bühler. Since 1995, Rainer Schulz has acted as head of production and later as general head of purchasing in charge of global procurement at the jet engine builder BMW Rolls-Royce AeroEngines. In 2001, Rainer Schulz moved on to the global REHAU Group. As Chief Op- erating Officer, he was in charge within the context of the company management of the engineering, production, and materials management functions. In 2010, Rainer Schulz was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the REHAU Group, a position he held until mid-2018. Rainer Schulz elected unanimously to Board of Directors Rainer Schulz Bühler Group Yönetim Kuruluna seçildi FAO’nun yeni Genel Direktörü Çinli Qu Dongyu Qu Dongyu becomes new director-general of FAO Qu Dongyu is elected as the new director-general of Agri- cultural and Food Organization of the United Nations (FAO), headquartered in Rome, Italy. The election for the FAO General Directorate was won by the Chinese Qu, who outvoted rivals, French Catherine Geslain-Laneelle, and Georgian Da- vit Kirvalize. Qu, Laneelle, and Kirvalize won 108, 71 and 12 votes respectively in the elec- tion where 191 FAO members voted in total. “I want to thank my homeland after 40 years of open policy and successful re- form,” said Qu Dongyu, the 9th Director- General of FAO history and the first Chinese to be elected to this post, in his thank-you speech. Qu Dongyu promised modern and digital agricultural incentives to the regions with poverty, hunger, and drought during the election campaign and emphasized that China’s New Silk Road project includes significant investments to third world countries. Merkezi İtalya’nın başkenti Roma’da olan Birleşmiş Mil- letler (BM) Tarım ve Gıda Örgütü’nün (FAO) yeni Genel Direktörü Çinli Qu Dongyu oldu. FAO Ge- nel Direktörlüğü için yapılan seçimi, rakipleri Fransız Catherine Geslain-Laneelle ve Gürcü Davit Kirvalize’yi geride bırakan Çinli Qu ka- zandı. FAO’nun 191 üyesinin kullandığı se- çimde, Qu oyların 108’ini, Laneelle 71’ini ve Kirvalize de 12’sini aldı. FAO tarihinin 9. Genel Direktörü olan ve bu göreve seçilen ilk Çinli olma özelliğine sahip Qu Dongyu, yaptığı teşekkür konuşmasında, “40 yıldır yürütülen açık politika ve başarılı reform sürecinden sonra vatanıma teşekkür etmek istiyorum” dedi. Seçim kampanyası boyunca yoksulluk, açlık, kuraklık sorunu olan bölgele- re modern ve dijital tarım teşviki vaadlerinde bulunan Qu Dongyu, Çin’in Yeni İpek Yolu projesinin üçüncü ülkelere önemli yatırımlar içerdiğini vurgulamıştı.
