NEWS • HABER 30 BBM / SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 2020 • EYLÜL-EKİM 2020 TMO, ekmeklik buğdayı 1775 liradan satacak TMO to sell bread wheat for 1775 liras Wheat production, which was 19 million tons in 2019, is pre- dicted to increase by 8 percent this year to 20.5 million tons, said a statement from the General Directorate of the Turkish Grain Board (TMO). It was pointed out that the country's overall production is at a level to meet the domestic consumption, when the wheat consumption is calculated to be around 19 million tons. The statement made the following evaluations: “Our organization announced the purchase price of hard bread wheat as 1650 lira per ton, and durum wheat as 1800 lira per ton on May 4th, and the grain harvest across the country has been completed." The statement reminded that the TMO formed its stocks pri- marily through domestic purchases during the harvest period and reinforced its stocks with foreign purchases after the har- vest period was over by not making the producers suffer, em- phasizing that the imports were carried out in order to ensure stability in the domestic market, to protect consumers and to prevent speculative price movements during the season. “At this point, it has been decided that our wheat stocks will be opened for sales as of October. In this context, our sales prices for October 2020 have been determined as 1775 TL per ton for bread wheat and 1950 TL per ton for durum wheat. Grain markets are closely monitored by our organization and all measures for market regulation will con- tinue to be taken in the upcoming period, as it has been until today,” the statement added. Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi (TMO) Genel Müdürlüğü'nden yapılan açıklamada, 2019'da 19 milyon ton olan buğday üretiminin bu yıl yüzde 8 artışla 20,5 milyon ton olacağının tahmin edildiği belirtildi. Buğday tüketiminin 19 milyon ton seviyelerinde olduğu hesapladığında ülke üretiminin yurt içi tüketimi karşılaya- cak seviyelerde bulunduğuna dikkat çekildi. Açıklamada şu değerlendirmelerde bulunuldu: “Kuruluşumuz, 4 Mayıs'ta sert ekmeklik buğday alım fiyatını ton başına 1650 lira, ma- karnalık buğdayı ton başına 1800 lira olarak açıklamış olup, ülke genelinde hububat hasadı tamamlanmıştır.” TMO'nun stoklarını öncelikle hasat döneminde iç alım- larla oluşturduğu, hasat dönemi bittikten sonra üreticilerin mağduriyetine sebep olmadan stoklarını dış alımla takviye ettiği anımsatılan açıklamada, yapılan ithalatların iç piyasa- da istikrarı sağlamak, tüketiciyi korumak ve sezon içerisin- de spekülatif fiyat hareketlerini önlemek amacıyla gerçek- leştirildiği vurgulandı. Açıklamada, şunlar kaydedildi: “Gelinen noktada buğday stoklarımızın ekim ayından itibaren satışa açılmasına karar verilmiştir. Bu kapsamda 2020 Ekim ayı satış fiyatlarımız, ek- meklik buğdayda ton başına 1775 lira, makarnalık buğday- da ton başına 1950 lira olarak belirlenmiştir. Kuruluşumuzca hububat piyasaları yakından takip edilmekte olup bugüne kadar olduğu gibi bundan sonraki süreçte de piyasa düzen- lemeye dönük tüm tedbirler alınmaya devam edilecektir.” The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) set the sale prices of wheat.
