Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Associations awarded companies that contribute to the national economy with their pro- duction, employment and high export volumes in 2020. In his speech at the ceremony, Musa Özgüçlü, Chairman of Oba Makarna, stated that they are proud of contributing to the Turkish economy with production, employment and exports. Ex- pressing that they prevented their customers from suffering by establishing a shipping company in 2021 due to the worldwide container crisis, Özgüçlü said, "We took a step towards the ship- ping industry by establishing Savana ShippingLine. Our invest- ments in this area will continue. We aim to increase the number of our ships from 5 to 20 with an investment of approximately 200 million dollars." Özgüçlü said, "As Oba Makarna, we have been the export champion of the sector for 8 consecutive years. We carry out 10 percent of the world's pasta export alone. We are the export champion in the grains, pulses and oilseeds sector as well. More- over, according to the figures of 2020, we are the leader compa- ny for exports in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions." Oba, which is the largest pasta producer in Turkey with a daily production capacity of 2 thousand tons, has been recently grow- ing with a new sector and innovative products. Özgüçlü stated that they entered the starch sector after flour, noodle and pasta with cheese sauce (mac&cheese). Dünya genelinde yaşanan konteynır krizi nedeniyle 2021 yılında kendi denizcilik şirketini kurarak, müşterilerinin mağ- duriyetinin önüne geçtiklerini ifade eden Özgüçlü, "Savana ShippingLine'ı kurarak armatörlük sektörüne adım attık. Bu alanda da yatırımlarımız devam edecek. 5 olan gemi sayısını yaklaşık 200 milyon dolarlık yatırımla 20'ye çıkarmayı hedef- liyoruz" diye konuştu. Özgüçlü, "Oba Makarna olarak 8 yıldan bu yana sektörün- de en fazla ihracat yapan firmayız. Dünya makarna ihracatının yüzde 10'unu tek başımıza gerçekleştiriyoruz. Hububat, bak- liyat ve yağlı tohumlar sektöründe de ihracat şampiyonuyuz. Yine 2020 yılı rakamlarına göre, Doğu ve Güneydoğu Ana- dolu Bölgesinin en fazla ihracat yapan firmasıyız" dedi. Günlük 2 bin ton üretim kapasitesiyle Türkiye'nin en bü- yük makarna üreticisi olan Oba, son dönemde yeni sektör ve yenilikçi ürünlerle büyüyor. Özgüçlü, un, noodle ve peynir soslu makarnanın (mac&cheese) ardından nişasta sektörüne de girdiklerini belirtti.
