10 BBM / EYLÜL 2022 • SEPTEMBER 2022 NEWS HABER Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Vahit Kirişci, drew attention to the importance of production for Turkey in the Agriculture Sector Representatives Meeting he attended in Aksaray and thanked the producers who continue production under all circumstances. Minister Kirişci said, “We certainly do not have a problem with the supply of products for our domestic needs. We foresee 19,5-20 million tons of wheat production. With this production, we will meet our own needs. We did not ignore the baker who will buy flour and make bread and the consumer who will buy bread from the baker." Stating that the issue of agriculture and food came to the fore due to the pandemic, then the war between Russia and Ukraine, and some problems related to the climate, Kirişci said: "Now, food has become a matter of national security. We wit- nessed that the countries we thought were self-sufficient suddenly inclined to food nationalism. They closed the gates and imposed export bans. As a result, there was panic. The Russia-Ukraine war added spice to this. There were substantial breaks in the production which was disrupted during the pandemic process and the supply chain that provided production. Our producers continued to produce in this troubled process. There has not been a shortage of a product in our markets as a country thanks to the measures we have taken. We have witnessed some initiatives with provocative motivation. Kendi ihtiyacımızı içerden karşılayacağız" dedi. Aksaray'da düzenlenen, Tarım Sektör Temsilcileri Toplantısına katılan Tarım ve Orman Bakanı Vahit Kirişci, Türkiye için üretimin önemine dikkati çekerek, her şartta üretimi sürdüren üreticilere te- şekkür etti. Bakan Kirişçi, “Bizim kesinlikle ürün arzıyla ilgili, kendi iç ihtiyacımız için bir problemimiz yok. 19,5-20 milyon ton buğday üretimi öngörüyoruz. Bu üretimle beraber kendi ihtiyacımızı içer- den karşılamış olacağız. Üretilen buğdayı un olarak alıp ekmek yapacak fırıncıyı da ve fırıncıdan ekmek alacak tüketiciye de göz ardı etmedik" dedi. Pandemi, daha sonra da Rusya ve Ukrayna savaşı ve iklimle ilgili yaşanılan birtakım problemler nedeniyle tarım ve gıda konusunun öne çıktığını belirten Kirişci, şöyle konuştu: "Artık gıda konusu milli güvenlik meselesi haline geldi. O kendi kendine yettiğini zannettiğimiz ülkelerin bir anda gıda milliyetçili- ğine işi çevirdiklerini gördük. Kapıları kapattılar, ihracat yasakları getirdiler. Bundan kaynaklı olarak da bir panik havası oluştu. Rus- ya-Ukrayna savaşı adeta bunun tuzu biberi oldu. Pandemi sürecin- de bozulan gerek üretim ve üretimi sağlayan tedarikler zincirinde ciddi kırılmalar oldu. Bizim üreticilerimiz ise bu sıkıntılı süreçte üret- meye devam etti. Almış olduğumuz tedbirler sayesinde hamdolsun ülke olarak marketlerimizde bir ürünün kıtlığı yaşanmadı. Provakatif amaçlı, maksadı farklı olan birtakım girişimler oldu. Onlara ilişkin de anında almış olduğumuz aksiyonlarla bunlar da geri çevrildi."
