The Republic of South Africa, with a total area of 1,221,037 square kilometers, bor- ders Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho and Eswatini. According to official data, in the country that hosts a population of 60.3 million, 62 percent of the population is under the age of 35. The Republic of South Africa, the country with the largest number of capitals in the world, has 3 official capitals: Pretoria, the executive capital, Cape Town, the legislative capital, and Bloem- fontein, the judicial capital. The country’s largest city, Johannesburg, is also the economic heart of South Africa. The country is divided into 9 provinces, namely Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Limpopo, Mpum- alanga, North-West and Free State. Gauteng, where the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria are located, is the most crowded province in the country with a population of over 15 million. Johannesburg ve Pre- torya kentlerinin bulunduğu Gauteng, 15 milyonun üstünde nüfusuyla ülkenin en kalabalık eyaleti. Onu yaklaşık 11 milyonluk nüfusuyla ülkenin en büyük ikinci şehri ve en önemli limanı Durban’ın bulunduğu KwaZulu-Natal eyaleti izliyor.
