8 BBM / KASIM 2022 • NOVEMBER 2022 NEWS HABER Bayer has completed the sale of its Environmental Health Professional Solutions business unit to international private eq- uity firm Cinven, following the agreement signed between the two companies in March. Thus, the necessary conditions for the completion of the process, including the approval of the license, were met. It was stated that the business unit, which reached a sales figure of approximately 600 million Euros in 2021, was sold for 2.6 billion dollars. Rodrigo Santos, Member of the Board of Directors of Bayer AG and Head of the Agricultural Products Department, said: “I would like to thank our colleagues in the Environmental Health Professional Solutions business unit for their long-standing com- mitment and the success they have brought to Bayer. Cinven is a strong company committed to contributing to the long-term growth potential of its business unit and its employees. With the completion of this process, we can focus on our basic agricultur- al activities and successfully implementing our growth strategy in the Agricultural Products division.” Proceeds from the sale will be used to reduce Bayer’s net fi- nancial debt. Following the conclusion of the process, the sold business unit will continue its activities as an independent com- pany under the name Envu. Pontus Pettersson, one of the partners of Cinven, said, “Envu exists in an extremely attractive and important industry and is a global leader. We thank Bayer for their trust in Cinven. We plan to advance this strong foundation created by Bayer by making significant investments.” Bayer sells its Environmental Health Business Unit to Cinven Bayer, a global company in health and nutrition life sciences, has completed the sale of its Envi- ronmental Health Professional Solutions business unit to Cinven. Bayer, Çevre Sağlığı İş Birimini Cinven’e sattı Sağlık ve beslenme ile ilgili yaşam bilimleri alanlarında küresel bir şirket olan Bayer, Çevre Sağlığı Profesyonel Çözümler iş biriminin Cinven şirketine satılması sürecini tamamladı. Bayer, Mart ayında iki şirket arasında imzalanan sözleşme- yi takiben Çevre Sağlığı Profesyonel Çözümler iş biriminin uluslararası özel sermaye şirketi Cinven’e satılması sürecini tamamladı. Böylece ruhsat onayının alınması dahil olmak üzere sürecin sona ermesi için gereken koşullar sağlanmış oldu. 2021 yılında yaklaşık 600 milyon Euro satış hacmine ulaşan iş biriminin 2,6 milyar dolara satıldığı belirtildi. Bayer AG Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi ve Tarım Ürünleri Bö- lümü Başkanı Rodrigo Santos konuyla ilgili olarak şunları söyledi: “Çevre Sağlığı Profesyonel Çözümler iş birimindeki çalışma arkadaşlarımıza uzun yıllar boyunca gösterdikleri bağlılık ve bu doğrultuda Bayer’e kazandırdıkları başarı için teşekkür ederiz. Biz de bu sürecin tamamlanmasıyla birlikte temel tarım faaliyetlerimize ve büyüme stratejimi- zi Tarım Ürünleri bölümünde başarılı şekilde uygulamaya odaklanabiliriz.” Satış işleminden elde edilen gelir, Bayer’in net mali bor- cunu azaltmak için kullanılacak. Sürecin sonuçlanmasını takiben devredilen iş birimi, faaliyetlerine Envu adı altında bağımsız bir şirket olarak devam edecek.
