Apart from the destruction that this war will cause, it also brings reality to the concepts of food safety and food security, which we already see as a danger. Wheat stands out more than other grains in this sense. As TFIF, we have been constantly expressing our views to the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) and the Ministry of Agriculture about not neglecting wheat, revealing its importance with special support to be given to wheat, and raising awareness among farmers on this issue. This year’s policies specific to wheat made the industrialists and farmers happy. As you know, we had an ex- treme drought last year. This drought, the problems brought by the climate crisis, geopolitical risks and the Covid-19 process did not allow wheat to reach the value it deserves. This year, al- though the concerns we expe- rienced last year have changed shape, we had a chance to take a deep breath thanks to our fer- tile harvest season and the ac- curate policies implemented by our government. ‘WE WILL NOT HAVE A PROBLEM IN THE SUPPLY OF WHEAT IN THE 2022-2023 SEASON’ In the meetings we held with the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and TMO in the 2022-2023 sea- son, we saw how important wheat is, that they approach it with this understanding, and we discussed what we can do about it. TMO’s 1000 TRY pre- mium support for the purchase price also created awareness among our farmers. The base price given by the government for wheat this year is 6450 TRY. This was increased to 7450 TRY with TMO’s 1000 TRY premium. This showed us all how valuable a strategic product is and the extraordinary importance given to wheat. We are very happy with this move by the government and TMO and the fact that our advice was taken on this issue. This created great awareness in terms of food security and food safety in our country. This awareness has also enabled our country’s farmers to have a positive orientation towards wheat by eliminating the concerns of our farmers about the search for alternative products for the future. Bu yıl buğdaya özel izlenen politikalar biz sanayicilerin ve üreticilerimizin yüzünü güldürdü. Sizin de bildiğiniz gibi geçen yıl ekstrem bir kuraklık yaşa- dık. Bu kuraklıkla beraber hem iklim krizinin getirdiği sorunlar, hem jeopolitik riskler hem de Covid-19 süreci, buğdayın hak ettiği değeri görmesine fırsat tanımamıştı. Bu sene, geçen yıl yaşadığımız kaygılar şekil değiştirse de verimli bir hasat se- zonu geçirmemiz ve devletimizin gerçekleştirdiği doğru poli- tikalar sayesinde derin bir nefes alma şansı yakaladık. ‘2022-2023 SEZONUNDA BUĞDAY ARZINDA SIKINTI YAŞAMAYIZ’ 2022-2023 sezonunda Tarım Bakanlığı ve TMO temsilcileri ile yaptığımız toplantılarda buğda- yın ne kadar önemli olduğunu, onların da bu farkındalıkla yak- laştıklarını gördük ve bununla ilgili neler yapabileceklerimizi karşılıklı görüştük. TMO’nun alım fiyatına 1000 lira prim desteği vermesi üreticilerimizde de bir farkındalık oluşturdu. Bu yıl devletin buğday için verdiği taban fiyatı 6450 lira. TMO’nun 1000 lira primiyle bu 7450 liraya çıkarıldı. Bu da buğ- daya verilen olağanüstü önemin ve stratejik ürün olmasının ne kadar değerli olduğunu hepimi- ze göstermiş oldu. Devletin ve TMO’nun bu hamlesi bizi çok sevindirirken, bunda bizim de sözümüzün dinlenmiş olması, onların da bu konuda bizimle beraber hareket ediyor olma- sı ülkemizin gıda güvenliği ve gıda güvencesi açısından son derece farkındalık yarattı. Bu farkındalık da hem ülke çiftçimi- zin yarınla ilgili, alternatif ürün arayışı konusundaki endişele- rini gidererek buğdaya pozitif bir yönelme gerçekleşmesini sağladı. Bu, bizi gelecek adına çok ümitlendirdi. Bu yıl tahmin ediyorum buğday ekim alanlarında yüzde 30 gibi bir artış ola- caktır. Bir de verimle birlikte, ekim artışları gerçekleştirilebilir ise bizler de önümüzdeki süreçte sözleşmeli tarımla buğdayı bir adım öne çıkarabilirsek, çiftçimizi tekrar üretime kazandıra- bilirsek Türkiye’nin buğday ithalatını yapmayacağı yılları göre- biliriz. Bundan dolayı ben çok umutluyum. Bu yıl için de gerçekten biz ülke olarak kendimize yetebilir bir ülke olduğumuzu hissettik, hissediyoruz. TMO’nun stok-
